The Kite Festival is all about kids, families and clean, outdoor fun. This event benefits our community in many ways. Kids of all ages can build and fly their own sled kites, enjoy traveling through the "Time Tunnel," participate in Candy Drops, see "Ollie the Octopus" fly, get pleasure from seeing the vast array of kites flown by pro kite fliers from throughout the region, as well as share in numerous other activities. Adults have just as much fun as the children!
The Ruidoso Kite Festival is a member of the American Kitefliers Association, the largest association of kite enthusiasts in the world.

Ray is one of our favorite, and most well-known kite flyers in the world. Enjoy this enchanting video of him flying multiple kites effortlessly to the music of Madam Butterfly.
